  • Why UrMove?

  • How accurate is the estimate?

    Let’s be honest, estimates are tricky. Time depends on various factors such as packing, walking distance, stairs, available space, etc. Estimates that we list are from the mover’s experience and are the maximum amount of time it will take movers to move your belongings. If your apartments is clean and there are no stairs or walking distance, you can confidently divide the estimate by 2.
  • Who is liable if movers break my stuff?

    You will be entering the contract with the movers. Don’t forget a copy with totals and signature. If a claim happens, we will act as an intermediator if it was submitted within 10 days after the move. Otherwise, you have 9 months to submit a claim to your mover.
  • Why do I need to pay the deposit?

    The reason is pretty simple, movers have busy schedules, and the deposit proves your intentions. The deposit is fully deductible in the end and is fully refundable if you cancel your move at least 48 hours before the move.
  • What if no companies are displayed?

    We are sorry, but unfortunately, there aren’t any companies in your area.
  • What if I want to cancel or reschedule my move?

    Please email our team at customer.service@urmove.com or call the UrMove office for rescheduling or cancellation. We will provide you with the phone number after you complete the booking. Please make sure to do so at least 48 hours before your move in order to retain the deposit.
  • Are there any extra fees?

    There may be a packing fee. Moving companies that offer free packing have a "free packing" badge in the company's profile. If you would like to purchase insurance from the movers, this is a charge aside from UrMove.
  • How much do local movers usually cost?

    On average, movers charge from $140 an hour for a team of 2 movers, with an additional $40 per mover charge for local moves.
  • What do movers consider a local move?

    A local move usually occurs when moving between 2 locations within 50 miles or less.
  • How do I know who is available?

    Service providers manage their availability through UrMove.com. If they show up in the search results, they are available!
  • When will my provider call me?

    Service Providers confirm new booking within 12 hours. So, you should hear from them within the next day at latest.
  • Will I get confirmation after my reservation?

    Yes, you will receive UrMove confirmation immediately.
  • How long does it take on average to move?

    The exact time depends on the number of bedrooms and cleanliness of the apartment, but on average, it takes 4-7 hours.
  • Can I change my move date?

    Yes, you can change the date if you reach out to customer service 48 hours before your move.
  • Can I pay by cash or check?

    If your movers accept checks, you can. Otherwise, we reccomend securely paying with your credit card. We utilize Stripe to ensure safe transactions.
  • What do I do if my provider is late?

    The default start time is 8-9 am. If your movers don't show up by then, contact UrMove using the phone number we provide in the confirmation email.
  • How can I track the status of my move?

    It is simple. There is not much to track. You book UrMove, movers confirm, movers show up and do the job while UrMove facilitates every step. Just sit down and relax!
