The Pearl District is a neighborhood in the Northwest section of Portland, Oregon. It is bounded on the east by Interstate 405, on the south by W Burnside Street, on the north by NW Glisan Street, and on the west by the Willamette River. The name refers to the former site of a pear cannery near what is now Northwest 9th Avenue and Couch Street. The first pearl button factory in the United States was located in the Pearl District.
